A Note From the Principal

Dear Current and Future Kaleidoscope Families,

It is with great pride that I am part of the Kaleidoscope Family as Principal and Parent. Having the opportunity to positively impact students through a high quality and innovative learning environment is a dream come true.

My other sources of pride are my loving and supportive friends and family which includes parents, siblings, nieces/nephews, and children. I have had the opportunity to teach two of my three, fun and adventurous, children which helps me relate to the blessings and challenges of parenting and teaching. These experiences have also taught me the critical lessons of building and sustaining genuine relationships within a school.

After receiving my BA in Elementary Education, I landed a job in a Kindergarten classroom and fell in love. I was fortunate to have an incredible mentor and leader that supported me on my journey. Along with my additional primary experience, I spent 10 years team-teaching in a similar model to Kaleidoscope. Team teaching is where I truly experienced the deepest level of professional and personal support. Most of my teaching career was spent in the primary grades before pursuing 6th grade math. This extreme shift taught me countless lessons and filled my soul in a way I hadn’t experienced before.

Over my 19 years in education I have experienced incredible leadership, teammates, and students that I have grown to adore. With that being said, all of these experiences and relationships have led me to utilize my Masters in Educational Administration and Leadership for the good. I embrace all that Kaleidoscope has to offer their students, families, and community. I commit to working tirelessly to ensure all of your child(ren) are my priority both academically and emotionally.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions at any time.

Ms. Kathleen Wingo
